"There's No Place Like Home Made"
Oz Country Mercantile & Produce
I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Tammy Klenklen. My husband Kevin and I live on 4 acres in Erie Kansas. We have three grown children. Kevin grew up in a farming community. I however, grew up in an urban area. When I first moved to Kansas I had no desire to learn about gardening or canning. It wasn't until about 18 years ago that I first started vegetable gardening. I always loved flowers and from the time we bought our first home I was always playing in my flower beds. I was reluctant to start preserving food but felt pressured to do so after the death of my mother-in-law. To my surprise, I really liked it! In 2011, I decided to help to start our local farmer's market. I wanted to make a few unusual jellies to sell and started with Root Beer, and Jalapeno. We sure have come a long way from the two we started with. In 2015, I was awarded my first EQIP Grant for a High Tunnel. This allowed me to concentrate more on my farming and so I was able to leave my job of 16 years to grow vegetables and make jelly full time. In 2017, I was awarded another grant and plan to erect another high tunnel and expand our operation once again. We sell at 3-4 Farmer's Markets a week and now operate a small Farm Store from our home that we sell in season produce from April through October. Thanks for stopping by! We hope to see you at the store or at one of our local Farmer's Markets!
We make our jellies in small batches, so that you always get the freshest product. Almost all of our products are made with our very own Home Grown Ingredients. We also buy fruit from our local Kansas growers whenever possible. We use pure cane sugar and add no artificial preservatives. Please visit our store and check out all of our flavors! All jellies are sold in 8 oz jars and sell for $5.50 each.
We are local bee keepers and offer a variety of lip balms and body butters in assorted scents. Lip Balms are $3 and Body Butters are $8.
All Herbs are Seasonal and have limited availability. If you have never cooked with fresh herbs, you don't know what you are missing.
